"Any Way She Likes It" - Bourbon Festival - September, 2011


The Pinkberry
1/2 liter dried strawberry-infused Kentucky bourbon
1 12 ounce can frozen pink lemonade, defrosted, no water added
3 12 ounce cans ginger ale
Combine ingredients in 1/2 gallon glass pitcher and stir.
Add 10-12 lemon wheel slices and 10-12 hulled and sliced fresh strawberries.
Let sit about 30 minutes.
Serve over ice and garnish with 1/2 strawberry and sprig of mint.
   
Joy's Dried Strawberry Kentucky Bourbon Infusion Recipe
1 liter Kentucky Bourbon
6-8 ounces dried strawberries (available at Whole Foods)
Pour Bourbon into a clean, 1/2 gallon jar, add dried strawberries.
Put the lid on and give it a good shake.
Put on shelf and let sit for 3 days.
Strain through fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth into a clean glass jar.
Label, date, and store. It is ready to use and does not need to be refrigerated.

Raspberry Rejuvenation
1 ½ oz Bulleit Bourbon
3 Muddled Raspberries
½ oz Lemon Juice
½ oz Simple Syrup
Top with Ginger Ale
 
Tonic Treatment

Four Roses Apple Cider
Four Roses Bourbon
Apple Cider
Sugar
Fresh Clove, Green Apples and Cinnamon
Add all in crock pot or on stove top.  Add spices to taste.  Let simmer for 2 hours.

Four Roses Classic Old Fashion
2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
1 sugar cube
Zest of Orange (Orange Oil)
Stir over ice.  Pour over fresh ice.

"Rock a Bye Baby Jane"
Glass: Rocks
Garnish: Lemon
Ingredients:
1 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liquor
1 oz. Wheated Bourbon
1 oz. Hibiscus Tea
.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
.5oz simple syrup
3 dashes of Bitters
Combine ingredients, shake in a mixing glass, pour over ice and garnish

"Kentucky Kiss"
1 part Michter's US*1 Sour Mash
.75 parts lemon juice
.50 parts Trinidad rum
.50 parts elderflower liqueur
.25 parts ginger syrup
.25 parts honey syrup
Combine all ingredients, shake and strain into a coupe or rocks glass.

BW FLAVOR AFFAIR - May 2014

Bourbon Daisy
2oz bourbon
.5oz simple syrup
.5 oz lemon juice
Dash of orgeat  
Top with sparkling water
In a highball glass add bourbon, simple syrup , lemon and orgeat. Stir. Fill with ice and top with sparkling soda.
 
Fancy Free
2 oz. bourbon
½ oz. maraschino liqueur
2 dashes orange bitters
1 dash angostura bitters
In a lowball or old fashioned glass with ice, combine all ingredients and stir gently until well mixed. Garnish with a large orange twist.

Kentucky Cousin
1.5 oz Devil’s Cut
1 oz Peach puree
Peach bitters

In a ball jar, fill with tea, squeeze of lemon, garnish w/ lemon wheel.

Tis the Season
1 part JB Single Barrel
1.5 parts sparkling wine
.25 part Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
.25 part lemon juice
3 dashes angostura bitters

Fire n Cider
1.5 parts KY Fire
3 parts fresh pressed apple cider
Heated and poured into mug.

 

BOURBON WOMEN BOWLING GREEN SIP AND SHOP, 2014

Peppermint Patty
2 oz Bird Dog Peppermint Moonshine
2 oz Chocolate Vodka
Shake together with ice and then serve over ice
Garnish with mint chocolate candy

Peppermint Milk Punch
Bird Dog Peppermint Milk Punch
Makes 6-8 servings
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
8 cups milk
21/2 cups Bird Dog Peppermint Moonshine
1/4 cup vanilla extract
Garnish: cocoa powder, peppermint stick
In a large pot, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil and boil until sugar dissolves. Let cool.  
In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine simple syrup, milk, moonshine, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.  Serve over ice. Sprinkle each serving with cocoa powder and serve with peppermint stick, if desired.

Four Roses Sweet Tart n' Simple
2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
1 oz POM juice
1 oz orange juice
1 tbsp orange or cranberry marmalade
Mix all ingredients and enjoy!

1 cup apple cider
1 oz maple syrup
1 oz ginger liquer
Lemon juice
Cinamon stick
Heat all ingredients. Serve with lemon peel and fresh nutmeg.

Four Roses Holiday Twist
2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
1/2 oz walnut or macadamia nut liquer
2 dashes of bitters
Add over ice, stir and strain. Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.

Old Fashioned
2 Oz Craft Distilled Brandy
Bar Spoon Demerara (2:1)
1 Dash Angostura

Tools You’ll Need:
Mixing Glass
Barspoon
Julep Strainer
Add Ingredients To Mixing Glass. Fill With Ice. Stir Until Well Chilled. Strain Into A Rocks Glass with Fresh Ice. Garnish with Cherry and Orange Peel.

 

BW DISTILL-HER EVENT AT OXMOOR FARM - MAY 2015

Old Fashioned Cocktail Punch
2 cups Kentucky bourbon (80-90 proof)
1/3 cup simple syrup
3 tablespoons Angostura bitters
1 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup water

In a 1 1/2 - 2 quart glass pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir well. Add ice and 20 stemmed cherries, 12 orange half wheels, and small slices go star fruit.

2 oz. Bourbon
1 Lime wedge
Ginger beer
Fill glass with ice. Add Bourbon and lime. Fill with ginger beer.

BOURBON MARTINI
2 oz. Bourbon
1 oz. Chambord
2 to 3 oz. Pineapple Juice
Shake with ice and strain into glass

1 1/2 oz Larceny
1/2 oz Real Passion Fruit Puree
1/4 oz Falernum
1/2 oz Orange Juice
1/2 oz Lime Juice
1 dash Herbsaint
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a lime wheel and mint

THE KY SPARKLER - Emily Hornback, 211 Clover Lane Mixologist
1 1/2 oz Rittenhouse Rye
1/2 oz Real Strawberry Syrup
1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
A spinkle of ground cinnamon
Shake over ice and dump into a collins glass. Top with dry vanilla soda. Stir. Garnish with lemon twist and fresh sliced strawberry.

THE BASIC B - Reina Shannon, Roux Mixologist
2 oz Elijah Craig Barrel Proof
3/4 oz Rum Chata
1/2 oz Pumpkin Puree
1/4 oz Ginger Puree
Put all in a shaker and add ice. Pour in a martini glass. Top with a dash of cinnamon.

"French Quarter Manhattan"
Ingredients:
2 oz small batch bourbon - 90 proof
1 oz Praline Liquor
4-5 dashes chocolate bitters
Praline or candied pecans for garnish
Directions - Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the bourbon, praline liquor and bitters. Stir to combine. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a praline or candied pecan

1.5 oz Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
1 oz Carpano Antica Vermouth
1 Dash of Black Walnut Bitters

SAINT NICK CIDER
2 parts Apple Cider
1 part Four Roses Yellow
4 Cinnamon Sticks
Fresh cut apples
Oranges with clove
Put in crockpot on low until warm

BOURBON WOMEN NIGHT AT JIM BEAM URBAN STILLHOUSE - APRIL 21, 2016

Peaches n’ Beam
2 parts Jim Beam Single Barrel
½ part Ramazzatti Amaro
½ part Stirring’s Peach
¾ part Prosecco
5 drops Whiskey Barrel Bitters

Combine Jim Beam Single Barrel, Amaro and Stirring’s Peach in a mixing glass. Stir. Place peach in flute. Pour mixture over peach slice. Top with prosecco and finish with bitters. Drag straw for design, serve.
 

Spring Thyme in the City
2 parts Basil Hayden
1 part Stirring’s Ginger
¼ part fresh lemon juice
3 sprigs thyme
Splash of ginger beer
3 dashes lavender bitters

Combine Basil Hayden, Stirrings Ginger, lemon juice and thyme in shaker tin. Shake with ice. Strain into rocks glass with one large ice cube, top with ginger beer and bitters. Garnish with thyme.

 

BOURBON, BACON, CHOCOLATE & CHEESE NIGHT - MAY 19, 2016

Gold Rush
1.5 parts Domain De Canton
1 part Elijah Craig Bourbon
 .5 part Fresh Lemon Juice
Build all ingredients into a mixing glass. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with lemon peel.

 

KENTUCKY BOURBON AFFAIR "ANATOMY ACADEMY" - JUNE 15, 2016

Whitney Coke/Charr’d Bourbon Kitchen & Lounge – “Charr'd Bellini”
1oz House-made Peach Puree
1.5 oz. Elijah Craig Small Batch
1 oz. Prosecco  
Shake peach puree and bourbon with ice. Strain into champagne flute. Top with Prosecco. Serve.

Kelsey Hofmann/Rye on Market – “Nature's Candy”
1.5oz Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
.75oz lavender peach syrup
.75oz lemon juice
1 dash eucalyptus bitters
Build all ingredients in shaker. Shake with ice until diluted. Double strain over rocks
 
Nic Christenson/Butchertown Grocery – “Beet Around the Bourbon
1.5 Elijah Craig
.75 pickled beet juice
.5 lemon
.5 la quintinye vermouth blanc
.25 ginger syrup
4-5 candied kumquats
In a shaker tin combine all ingredients, add ice, shake for 15 seconds and strain into coupe.
 
Joe Daily/Red Yeti – “Southern Nights”
2oz.  Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
6oz. Red Tea
Simple syrup
Fresh lemons for squeezing
Blackberries for muddling
Raspberries for muddling
Garnish blackberry/raspberry/lemon peel.
Boil Twinings Pure Rooibos Herbal Tea. 2 bags. Muddle 1 black blackberry and 1 raspberry in glass with 1oz simple syrup. Fill glass with crushed ice. Add 3/4oz simple syrup. Add 2oz Elijah Craig small batch.
Add 1oz fresh squeezed lemon juice. Fill with Twinings Pure Rooibos Red tea. Stir for 15 seconds
Garnish with lemon peel, blackberry, and raspberry. Glassware: 20oz. ounce glass of your choice. I love Hurricane glasses. Prep time: 15 minutes Skill level: intermediate
 
Jaon Stark/Martini Italian Bistro: “Elijah’s Mule”
2 oz Elijah Craig
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz lemon juice
2 whole strawberries if small.  1 if large
2 dashes angostura bitters
2 oz ginger beer
 Muddle strawberry and simple thoroughly.  Add bourbon, lemon juice and bitters and shake.  Too w/ ginger beer and stir.  Double strain into highball w/ 1 lg whiskey cube.  Garnish with lemon twist and strawberry.

3/4 oz chocolate whiskey or chocolate moonshine, 60 proof
1/2 oz cherry liquor
3 dashes chocolate bitters
1 dash cherry bitters
Garnish: quality maraschino cherries and chocolate syrup (optional)
Place ingredients in cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled martini glass garnished with high quality cherries and a bit of chocolate syrup on the rim, if desired.
